I've recently encountered a new problem with both Entourage X and Explorer 5.2.2 in Jaguar. There is a very long lag time between when I type a character and when it appears on the screen.
This is different from and worse than the well know Word X bug where the characters seem to hang momentarily, and then typing resumes at normal speed. Also, the problem seems to be intermittent, and the slowness seems to vary from a lag just slow enough to be visible, to sometimes taking several seconds to type a word. Any ideas what's causing this? I did a complete reinstall of Office X according to the MVP website instructions. The ran SR 1, then update to Office 10.1.1. I frequently run disk utilities and have repaired permissions. I can't be 100% sure, but I believe that this problem didn't exist before performing those updates. I don't know much about the process monitor, but I launched it and it didn't seem to me that any one app was hogging the CPU.
