Allen, Thanks for the response. According to Process viewer Transport Monitor is running, using .20 of memory.

After my last post I did a Palm DT 4.0 uninstall (from the installer) then reinstalled 4.0 and ran the Entourage conduit installer again. Still no hot synch monitor start up when pushing the hot synch button. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I synch my Palm to a windows machine at work via serial connection. Might this be part of the problem?

Mike,

Thanks for the details of the problem; it makes diagnosis easier. It sounds
to me as though something is missing. Reinstalling PD 4.0 might be your best
course. I am using PD 4.0, Entourage conduit, latest Entourage, and Mac OS
10.2.2, and it works for me. The failure of the Hot Sync even to launch
points to some kind of PD problem, since Entourage's part is just one among
conduits.

Cut and paste the following script into Script Editor and run it; it will
tell you if Transport Monitor is running.

tell application "System Events"
set x to every process whose name contains "Transport"
repeat with aProc in x
display dialog "Found " & name of aProc
end repeat
end tell

Subject: Hot Synch

I have a Palm m505 which I have synched to Entourage successfully in the
past.

I recently had to reinstall 10.2.2 on my G4/667/1G machine and now cannot
hot synch. When I push the hot synch button nothing happens -- the hot synch
app does not launch, and eventually I get the "connection was lost" dialog
on the Palm. I am using Palm Desktop 4 for OS X, and I have run the hot
synch updater from MS which puts my Palm conduits in a Disabled folder, and
the Entourage conduit in my hot synch folder -- I have confirmed they are
there. Possible problems:

1. Ran the latest MS service update 10.1.2 -- does this affect hot synch?
2. maybe lost a startup app (transport monitor?) when reinstalled X.2.2?
3. maybe need to reinstall PD 4 to be sure all parts are there?

Any help appreciated.
