Pretty strong words don't you think? Early adapters probably did not feel
"milked" or they would not have adopted MS Office - Plus, most adopters were
upgraders so the cost was substantially less than outright new purchase.

By Whom? Mailsmith? Eudora? Have you used these programs? Do you like them?
Do you find them more useful than Entourage?

Personally, I do not.

The closest thing out ther for OS X is (pick one from Colum A & one from
Colum B:)

A - Mail Client:
MailSmith
Eudora
(Both cost @ $40)

B
Personal Organizer - $50
Now Contact/.up to date - $99.00

Cost: Best case $50 (using Eudora in free mode) or over $100 in the worst
case.

Oh yeah, by the way, of the above mail clients, only Entourage is at
MacWorld this year - no sign of Mailsmith or Eudora....
