Now go to the Message window and click > Remove Attachments. There's actually an easier way this can be done. Create the outgoing rule Beth suggested, to begin with, and then open your Sent Items folder. Go to Edit -> Select All, and then go to Message -> Apply Rule -> Remove Attachments. All attachments present in the Sent Items folder will be removed. If you only plan on doing this manually, I would create the rule Beth suggested, but uncheck the "Enabled" box. Then, it won't run when you send messages, but it will when you run it using the menu command.
