The rule is great. There is one more option, too. If you want to keep an
attachment for a while, but remove it later, when it's not relevant, you
can.

Double-click the message
Click the Edit button or choose Message>Edit Message
If needed, click the arrow by the word Attachments to reveal the attachment.
Click the attachment in the revealed list.
Click the Remove button.
