I promised to report back on the results of the tests re: copying from Word X and pasting into Entourage X so here goes:
1) The results are the same whether pasting into a plain text or HTML message. 2) The results are the same whether your Word document was composed in Normal or Body Text style. 3) It makes no difference whether the Word document has 2 or 4 paragraphs nor whether there is a carriage return after the last paragraph or not. [This is for those who participated in the second test which grew out of the first (like mold on old cheese :-).] 4) The only variant that *does* make a difference is whether or not your Word document was formatted using carriage returns or Space After. In all cases, using carriage returns led to the insertion of an extra space in Entourage (2 lines between paragraphs) while using Space After equal to the point size of the font resulted in normal spacing (1 line between paragraphs). Conclusion: Entourage Help Page FAQ # 63 is basically correct. If you want proper spacing when pasting text from Word X to Entourage X, use Space After to format your Word document; alternatively, for Plain Text messages only, use Paste Special> "Paste as plain text." The FAQ does need some minor revisions for clarity but the content is solid. Thanks to all Remo Del Bello, Michael Shaffer, Jan Martel, Max Manshel, Mickey Stevens and Barry Wainwright for your time and participation!
