Greetings, All!

My cell phone was recently stolen and someone has given me a Kyocera 6035
smartphone. I like the idea of having the Palm and phone in one piece, but -
big surprise - I am having trouble making the connection between the phone
and my Entourage database.

The phone cradle has a serial cable, so I got the USB adapter, installed the
driver, downloaded the Palm software (4.0), got the Entourage Conduit &
Entourage Conduit Support (9.0) from my Office:mac 2001 CD-ROM, placed the
latter in the Extensions Folder and followed all the instructions and...zip.

The phone talks to my laptop (Powerbook G4 / OS 9.2.1) and I get the
onscreen progress report of it scrolling through all the various functions
(Synchronizing Photos, Datebook, etc) but it only synchs the Palm Desktop
software database. (I know this because I created one test entry there and
that got moved over to the phone!) If I look in the Hot Sync Conduit
Settings, there is no option for Entourage.

The only message I do get on the phone after it appears to successfully
clean up a synchronization is: "This installer [3.5.3] is not compatible
with your device. Please contact the manufacturer for a compatible
installer." Followed by "You may now delete the installer." Given that
nothing in the software installation process asked me about Entourage, I
suspect this message has nothing to do with my problem.

For the record, I did search the Entourage Talk database for messages about
this problem and only found one reference to someone having written a script
to bulk switch the "Sync with Palm?" flag off and on to get the device to
sync. I tried this manually with one record and it did not do anything.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Robert
