For example, I don’t often need to plunge into my email of the past. Suppose I adopt the following strategy:
- burn a CD backup of the MUD every 3 months.
- delete email with date > 91 days.
- If I need to recover something older:
- quit all Office apps
- rename MUD (to, say, MUD1)
- copy MUD from CD backup to ~/Documents
- open Entourage
- find... whatever
- quit Entourage
- discard MUD (I have it on CD)
- rename MUD1 to MUD
- open Entourage and other Office apps as needed
Is that a sensible strategy, or is there more to MUD than meets the eye?
