I'd never go back to POP for my real - work and personal - mail. IMAP is just so much more flexible and adaptable. There may be some email clients and/or some IMAP servers which are wonky, but Entourage - especially Entourage X - is very well implemented for IMAP. Things are nicer when the IMAP server is a "UID PLUS" type - which most servers owned by large institutions and companies will be - and are missing a few features when they're not UID PLUS - like .Mac accounts. I keep this account which I use for mailing listed as a POP account - partly because my ISP would charge me a lot for enough mailbox space to keep everything on the server and mostly because I don't need to keep this stuff on the server - once read is enough. I leave these POP messages on the server from my "other" computers and remove from the server on my home computer. I don't care that I don't get all the message son my other computer. Also with mailing list messages I don't really need copies of my own sent messages to the list accessible everywhere - they come back from the list anyway. For my main work and personal accounts, it's really great having my Sent messages accessible everywhere and I don't have to read incoming messages twice since they're marked as read already - but I cam still read them again if I want to. I'd definitely go with IMAP if you have a good service there. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
