That's odd, because I just tried this. I had never used the Command-Delete
shortcut to delete a word, and wanted to see what would happen if I tried in
in Entourage, so I created a messaged, typed a little, and hit
Command-Delete. I was then ASKED "Are you sure you want to permanently
delete this message?"
There is a checkbox labeled "Require confirmation when deleting" under
General Preferences > Notification (Entourage X). Perhaps this is turned off
on your system?
You might try changing the Keyboard shortcut for "Delete Message" in
Entourage to something else, like Command-Option-Shift-D. I have been able
to add shortcuts to things like "Auto Text Cleanup > To lowercase" using the
new keyboard shortcuts feature in Panther feature. Look in System
Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts.
