This incident was a couple of years ago. If there's an error warning,
chances are that I'd seen it one time before and dismissed it without
thinking. However, at the point in question, Entourage killed an email
message, without even the courtesy of placing it in the Deleted Items
folder, simply because I used a keyboard command common to two other
programs in the suite.

All these keyboard commands should be unified across programs. Entourage
isn't "special" from the user's point of view. If Word and PowerPoint, the
other two programs that deal mostly with text communication, all use
Cmd-Delete for "remove the previous word," so should Entourage. Consistency
is king. In Excel, Cmd-Delete appears to do nothing, so it's harmless there.
It's not harmless in Entourage.

I'll check that out at home. But at work, we're on Jaguar, and will be here
for as long as I will be. I can't imagine we'll update the OS on these
machines until 2006 or so.
