This looks to be the "feature" :-) The new rule, setting a flag, was not performed on any message generated by the burst. Yet the new rule did flag the digest. Nor did checking for the absence of only one header cause the rule to work. .... Another solution, the one I'll use for awhile, is to leave things alone and manually apply the rule when I want to clean out my folders. > > Since Entourage's rules work so well, and the MLM filters things into > separate folders, I have stopped receiving digests. These are genealogy lists that I've been on for a long time. (Dating from when my internet connection was a long-distance dial-up.) I don't mind the delay and before MLM the digests were a good way to prioritize my reading. I want to maintain my own archive of the list (who knows when that uninteresting piece of info will become vital) and so far have chosen to continue with the digests. However, with the current threading and sorting options, I am rethinking my plan and may change from storing the digests to storing the individual messages. If I do change, I'll make the from digest mode to message mode. Just like I did with the Claris E-Mailed and Outlook Express lists. By the way. Alan, thanks for your effort and help.
