This is the same problem I posted about last week. I also occasionally get an l with a similar stroke through it. Paul B seems to think it’s a well know problem with Monaco in Panther, but if so I don’t know about it. I seem to recall some discussion about the use of the ATSUI text engine with Entourage vs the more modern text engine within OS X as the source of the problem, but I can’t find that at the moment, either.

I’d love to solve this problem as well, as I don’t –want- to change away from Monaco, even the newly anti-aliased version.
