Problem solved. In my <HD>/Library/Fonts folder, I had an old copy of Monaco (a FFIL from circa 2000). I removed it to allow the system's built-in Monaco to take over.
Presto. My fonts look as they should, although I feel as if maybe this current version of Monaco is less crisp at 12 point. I'll have to experiment some more, but I'm basically happy. I hereby retract my unkind statements about ATSUI and Carbon, and many of the cursings of various people and entities I've uttered in private over the last few days. ;-) --Mike > That link shows up for me like this: > > <http://newgeo.com/monac> > > But, clicking on it works fine. > > Infuriating. > > So, in summary, this is a rendering bug in Apple's ATSUI text engine, which > only shows up when using ATSUI from a Carbon app (which not many apps do)? > > I'm getting a little bit irritated with Apple's shoddy second-class support > for Carbon. > > --Mike > > > > >> On or near 7/5/04 2:15 PM, Allen Watson at [EMAIL PROTECTED] observed: >> >>> ?
