This sounds exactly like one of the symptoms I've experienced with version
"X".  Around here, it was determined that it was corrupted or missing
headers on one or more emails at the server.
The resolution we came up with was to locate and remove the offending mail
through web interface or by the email server admin, and then restart
Entourage.  
Another symptom of this kind of thing is what was discussed under the
"Re-downloading old messages" thread.

And it's not related solely to Entourage.  So since it is more of a server
issue, it really does warrant the assistance of your email service provider.
