The problem with this approach is that it's a "special case" for Entourage. Someone using a backup utility like Retrospect will have his entire database file copied every backup (even if he/she doesn't use Office between backups but has a notification come due), and that can swell the size of the backup by a gigabyte or more. I don't remember which poet scribed "no man can serve two masters", but some still try; e.g., all those who write apps that integrate with Apple's core suite of personal user apps; thinking beyond the bounds of one's own application to the effects on the user who makes frequent backups could be one example of increasing user satisfaction.
