Did you use "Remove Office" or did you just trash the application? Using
"Remove Office" will remove preferences where trashing the application will
not. More info:

This can be a problem when first transferring over from Entourage X to 2004.
It could be a server issue, database problems or corrupt preference.

Troubleshooting tips:

Check for database corruption by creating a new Identity and accounts.

If the problems go away, then you know the problem is in your database. If
it doesn't work, then this indicates a problem with your Entourage install
or a conflict in your User's folder.

If the problem existed in a new identity then create a new User. This will
eliminate corruption or conflicts in your User Folder:

In System Preferences: Users:
    ? Create a new user.
? Log Out/In to new user.
? Open Entourage and see if the problems go away. (You might need to
recreate your account info.)
? If problems disappear then you know it's a conflict or corruption in
your user folder.

If you eliminate all possible problems on your computer, then I would run
tcpflow and check traffic between your computer and the ISP. This sounds
difficult but it really is easy. Directions here:

Now that you are armed with the traffic info, call your ISP.
