Using E'rage 2004. This morning when I plugged in my Treo and did Sync, it
decided to do "handheld overwrites computer" at least that's the only
explanation I can make for the fact that everything I had entered on the
computer since my last sync disappeared, and all multi-day events (which
still don't sync properly to the Palm, but by now I've given up on trying to
do anything about that) returned as one day events, and lost their
categories. I checked the conduit settings and they say "synchronize" but I
realize that it could have said "handheld overwrites computer" before I did
the sync this morning, because it does that only once and then reverts to
"synchronize." After checking the settings, I made a copy of the database
and then did a sync again and it was fine. What I'm wondering is whether
there's anything I can do to avoid having this happen again? It was no fun
going through the calendar fixing things. Luckily, I hadn't entered any
contacts on the computer since the last sync, so hopefully that's okay ...
No, it isn't - all the categories are gone!! No, not all, only for the
contacts whose primary category was one that isn't on the handheld (I have
more categories on the computer than on the handheld). Great. So, I can fix
it by going through the contacts, but what about the future? Do I have to
check the settings before I sync? Or what?

Meanwhile, I continue to get multiple copies of emails, even though I am now
leaving *nothing* on the server. My husband asked if I couldn't use a
different email program in response to my irritated comment. But I like
E'rage, it just is frustrating to have the same emails arrive over and over.
