That's what generates your calendar alerts, etc. My experience is if you don't have alerts on, then the Database Daemon won't be running (I don't use Entrourage's calendar and don't have alerts on so I never see a Database Daemon process running). > And: do I just trash the iBook's Main ID folder (under Documents) and copy > the main mac's folder into that place? That is what I usually do - very time > consuming, though... Up to you. You could just rename it - no need to compress unless disk space is an issue. I can't see any reason to need to put it into a disk image. Normally, I don't even keep a Main Identity folder on the iBook. When I need it, I copy via Appleshare the Main Identity from my desktop (I do it enough that I even have an alias on the iBook for the MUD folder of the desktop). When I return, I first drag the main Mac's now out-of-date Main Identity to the Trash (by trashing first, the old is still there for short-term backup (copying over the file results in its immediate deletion) should there be a problem copying back from the iBook). Then from the iBook push the Main Identity folder back to the main Mac. Once I've verified all is well, I trash the iBook's now obsolete Main Identity (since I don't want to waste time and space backing it up). The only issue is window sizes. Since the main Mac is a 20" half-dome iMac and the iBook is an iBook (with many fewer pixels of screen real-estate), when I first open Entourage on the iBook, the main window size is usually too big. Click the green window button to resize it to full-screen (and get the "sizing point" back on the screen) and then size as desired. Safari or other browser bookmarks can be similarly moved. -- Larry Stone [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Thanks > > Barbara > > > From: Larry Stone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > > Date: Tue, 21 Jun 2005 06:30:35 -0500 > > To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > > Subject: Re: Synchronizing? > > > > On 6/21/05 4:43 AM, Barbara Hodge at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > >> Question: > >> > >> I recently bought an iBook G4, and, 2 weeks ago, transferred my entourage > >> etc data across.
