What's happening is that optonline, your ISP, is blocking port 25 for any other smtp servers. This is why johnfquinn.com won't send with mail.johnfquinnn.com won't work. (My ISP, Charter Pipeline, does the same thing.) However, as you've seen, changing the smtp back to optonline isn't a good solution: When the "from" (i.e. johnfquinn.com) and the smtp server don't match, mail is often flagged as SPAM -- the "from" looks faked, a trick spammers use. What you need to do is change the outgoing port to 587, change the smtp servers back to mail.johnfquinn.com, and set the appropriate authentication. If you Google for soemthing like Entourage Port 587, you'll find several sites that show with screenshots. There's even an Apple Discussion about Port 587 and optonline, but I'm having trouble getting it to load at this minute. This is the route I had to take to use my mac.com and earthlink.net accounts as POP with charter.net. peace, Linda -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
