Doing some searching, it sounds like some people are missing the root
certificate needed which is apparently the "Thawte Premium Server CA"
certificate. Go into Keychain Access and see if you have that in your
X509Anchors keychain. Mine says:
Thawte Premium Server CA
Root certificate authority
Expires: Thursday, December 31, 2020 5:59:50 PM America/Chicago
[green check] This certificate is valid

If you don't have it, go to <https://www.verisign.com/support/roots.html>
and download the package. It should automatically expand into a folder. Open
the "Thawte Server Roots" folder and drag ThawtePremiumServerCA.cer to
Keychain Access and install in X509Anchors. You should then be good to go.

I think what you earlier downloaded is the server certificate itself. AFAIK,
this does not need to be in your keychain.
