Also try booting the Apple Hardware Test -- do Intels still have this? And
test the RAM.

I would have suggested downloading memtest- on a working mac that is, but
I'm not sure if it runs on the new Macs yet.

Subject: Attempts to install Office on an Intel MacBook Pro

My nephew has a pristine, spanking new MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.8.) He¹s tried
to install Office 2004 twice now. But gets an error message when trying to
open Word:

³An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework
Library.²
