Eric,

I have a 6.5GB database, and I do *not* freeze for 3 minutes every time I
get an email! I get about 300 emails a day, so I would be frozen nonstop...

I have a 13-second freeze at midnight every night (perhaps other times of
day that I've never noticed?), but I don't think I've ever frozen for 3
minutes and recovered normally -- sometimes, it will freeze/spin the
beachball and crash, but not recover...

I would guess you need to compact/repair your database, or else that
Exchange may be a suspect (I do not do IMAP or Exchange, only POP). But
those are just guesses.

peace,
Linda
