I wouldn't know how to "paste into Entourage" without a message window open. 
When I create or reply to a message, Entourage opens a message window in which 
I work. Are you saying it's possible to work in the preview pane, or am I 
missing something?

YEs, if you could just turn on key-logging and then, in a month or so when it 
happens,open a file and view your keystrokes, that would tell you _something_.
