That's nonsense. In OS X, applications don't cause system crashes as they could in OS 6-9. They might themselves crash, but they don't bring down the system. OS X is multithreaded.
Entourage does save open documents every 30 seconds or so, and stores them in a hidden folder until they are saved or sent. If Entourage crashes, that hidden folder is programmed to open the messages stored there on the screen when relaunched. Even if it were the case that Entourage crashed more often than other apps, what can possibly be wrong with a fail-safe method like this? And Entourage does not crash all that often anyway. When the system crashed it naturally pulled everything down with it. Applications that auto=save open documents protect you work for you, even when it's not their fault (i.e. in a system crash). It sure seems to me an odd thing to complain about. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP MacOffice Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/index.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using - 2004, X or 2001.
