Ed, I agree, the Crown Volume is the entire crown including spacing.
One note on the Crown Volume, the base of the Crown is above the
ground. Say in the case of Live Oaks they tend to be quite low,
sometimes on ground level, or say 4-8' above ground. On the other hand
the Red and White Oaks tend to be high. Bob, New Problem for you. I
think we need a formula that will be something like this? Base of
Crown above ground to Height of Tree times the two radius. Above
ground CB X H X R1 X R2= V. If the crown does not touch the ground we
are over estimating the Volume. I know I ask alot but it makes sense
to me . Am I thinking right on this? Larry
