Thanks for the link....I just found out that it has been pretty  cold at my 
old alma mater...NDSU-Bottineau in Bottineau, ND and I had a  sudden rush 
of memories related to camping out below zero in heavy ice  fog.
 
It makes the rainy, 40 degree day we are having in WV suddenly seem warm  
and cozy.

Tower and Embarrass are certainly colder than  International Falls, which
is included in one of the tables. As usual,  small towns (under 1000
people) and remote weather stations are not  included for the Midwest,
but are included for other parts of the  country.

Today's snow cover map finally shows 1-2 cm of "snowpack" in  parts of
northern MN, Upper Michigan, and the north side of Lake  Superior. With
the increase in albedo up there, we should be able to get  some cold
weather soon.
