ENTS Someone requested pics, so I am listing some of Pennsylvania's largest oaks here. Definitely not the biggest, but they are awesome to see. I might bet that Pa. has the most documented large oak trees?
White oak 21.9 cbh limbs over 3' thick 87' tall http://www.pabigtrees.com/trees/images/LGFM%2006%202%20small.jpg Yellow oak 21.2 cbh limbs over 3' thick 75' tall http://www.pabigtrees.com/trees/images/Sacred%20oak%20of%20the%20oley%20valley%2006.JPG Bender Oak (hybrid) 21.8 cbh 87' tall red and scarlet hybrid. http://www.pabigtrees.com/trees/images/trees%20by%20county/philadelphia/pictures/morris%20arboretum%2008/Quercus_x_benderi.JPG Another Bender oak that died in 2003 was 29' cbh x 65' tall The Wye Oak was 31.8 cbh and 96' tall Maryland has a Swamp white oak that is 24.6 cbh and over 100' tall They also have a 22x96 white oak in Calvert Md. The live oaks don't have the height usually, but the girth is incredible along with the branches. The middleton oak was exceptional!
