Lee,
I think I've figured it out. Instead of coffee, beer, wine, etc., you drink antifreeze. You're sweating when the rest of us are moaning and shivering. What's the brand you've discovered that doesn't pickle the insides? According to my trusty iPhone, this is what t looks like at a few spots around the country. Florence: 26 with snow Tower, MN: -6 and cloudy (lowest I've found) Big Piney, WY: 20 and light snow Stanley, ID: 27 and snow Caribou, ME: 28 and clear Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lee Frelich" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, December 13, 2009 11:56:40 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: Re: [ENTS] Brrrrr! Bob: In Minneapolis we had a few days where the high was about 4 degrees last week. However, that was not cold. Its cold when the high is -15. We are expecting a warmer than average winter here due to El Nino, which means its very likely there will be fewer below zero days than an average winter. However, even El Nino winters usually have a brief spell of very cold weather, and its still possible to get an occasional -50 in northern MN. El Nino winters can be difficult for trees, because intrusions of warm air melt the snow and the ground freezes deeper than in a winter with continuous cold, which allows insulating snow to cover the ground all winter.
