Weather extremes have always interested me. One reason its that they tell me where I might not want to go, or live. As a statistics nut, I'm always looking for the extremes and from them tend to fill in the means. January is the traditional coldest month. So it is the one I've chosen to closely monitor. Why don't I just wait until the end of the month and look at summary data from NOAA? Good question.
