Gaines, The heights are confirmed. The age will be easy to get. I know one concern I believe Jess had at our site visit was that the grove is not protected and could (already) be logged.

If you can do that, you should, or I, will contact the nearest university with a forestry research program and make sure this makes it into the literature. Not only will I be stunned, but there will be a lot of stunned foresters all over! If this is true, it needs to be known. The site should be analyzed, and the strain of WP tested. I am skeptical, but if you can confirm the age and heights, I will be the first to admit that the forestry profession, which I am a very tangential part of, has missed something very important. --Gaines ----------------------------------------------------------
