Good question! My impression is that it is better than a slide, maybe as 
good as a print but to get an accurate idea, I would need to take the image 
same under the same conditions with each which I haven't done. Will get 
back to you on this after I have tried it.

Three sets of parameters can be set, in each of which the contrast can be 
set to low medium or high, the sharpness can be set to l, m or h and the 
colour saturation can be set to l, m or h. On the other hand, if you shoot 
in raw, the full information is contained in the image and these settings 
can be individually set afterwards.

The thumbnails are very good at showing what you got and can be "zoomed" in 
on to show the image in nine full frame segments, ie you can look at one 
ninth of the image as a full frame. However they are thumbnails and you 
won't know for sure if you got it tack sharp until you bring it up on the 
computer monitor.

All of the above :o) Having a 1 Gig card does encourage one to keep 
marginal shots till one gets home.
