For portrait and group photos, I am considering the purchase of two
approximately 600 w/s monolights which I intend to bounce into 42 inch
umbrellas. I have a 550EX Speedlite that I would also like to use as a
central direct flash when using the umbrella monolight setup. In order to
to this, I probably need to be able to connect the Speedlite to the mono
light system with a PC cord link and set it in the manual mode. Once this
is done, shouldn't I be able to test fire all three lights together and
take an exposure reading using my Sekonic L-508 in the flash meter mode?
Will this concept work? What type of flash adapter do I need to be able to
use the Speedlite with a PC cord link?
