Yes, the EOS 3 will do wireless with a 550 flash unit. I have owned both and
still have the 3. Most upgraded from the 1n to the 3. Also the 3 has recently
dropped in price. You can buy one now for around $900. in the US. I think it's
the best Bang for your Buck. The 3 has newer technology than the 1n. Even if
the 3 were hundreds of dollars more than the 1n, I would recommend the 3.
