Julian -

I just received yesterday the Canon USA brochure for the 7e. On page 33 of
it, it shows an Elan-7 master triggering 3 x 420ex slave flash units by
itself.

On page 32 (the facing page), it also shows an Elan-7 + Macro Ring Lite +
420ex slave; as well as an Elan 7 with ST-E2 and two 420ex slaves.

So it's very confusing. It could be that on page 33, they forgot to include
the ST-E2 designator. Or it could be that the Elan-7 has very basic
mastering capabilities. I don't own one (although I'm tempted to get one
as a silent-drive backup to my -3).

Karen

ps. the brochure # is BR0-120E-002 8/00, for the EOS Elan 7 / 7e published
by Canon USA.
