I believe this was discussed a while back (a couple months ago?) and the
consensus was that Canon stipulates that a computer must be running an
original version of Windows 98 and not the 95 to 98 upgrade version.
Something about code variations with the upgrade.
You may want to check with the 1v List or EOS 3 List (where 1v issues are
discussed) to see if anyone has some hands-on experience concerning this.
