Tom, I use my Kenko 300 pro 1.4X with the 28-135 IS and I had use with the
EF 70-210 3.5-4.5. I had aceptable results with then but you need to
stopdown at 8.0 at least to get god resouts. Wide open the photos was very
soft.
You continue to have AF with both but at the long end it is dificult with
low light.
