Confusion is apt for the title of this thread... there
are both 430ez flashes (the out-of-production
predecessor to the 540ez) and a 430ex (introduced
along with the Elan 7). The ex is indeed an E-TTL
flash mounted on the proper camera.
Otherwise, lots in common! Including the guide number,
where the number part comes from!
