I cannot refer to my own experience, but a friend of mine - a pro
photographer - once recommended the Sigma to me when we were speaking
about ultra wide primes.
He only uses primes - besides the 14mm Sigma only Nikkors - and is
very pleased with the quality of the Sigma. He said he took quite a
lot of pics with it which he later sold to magazines.
Look at www.tylerlarkin.com and click on the "Sports" button, then
click through the pics. There is one pic where a rally car passes an
old man sitting in a little village (Akropolis Rally in Greece).
AFAIK he took this pic with the Sigma. Also the pics of the the "ski
jump guy" and the cyclist (Jan Ullrich) were taken with the Sigma.
I saw other pics he took with this lens and they were quite
impressive.
For me the 14mm Sigma is too expensive, so I went with the 17-35 EX
HSM :-)
Hope this helps,
Marco
