I haven't really been following the thread, so this is just a reminder
that the sky is not evenly polarized, and when you use such a wide angle
(20mm and wider generally), you have to be very careful because you can
get a dark band in the sky (where the light is most polarized) and
lighter edges of the picture which are outside of the polarized area of
the sky. Obviously, you can see this in the veiwfinder, so if you see a
sky that is light on the left, dark blue in the middle and light again
on the right, don't just figure it to be your imagination.
Of course the band of polarization in the sky can be anywhere in the
frame, depending where you are pointed in relation to the sun (the sky
is most polarized at 90 degrees from the location of the sun).
