Try to get some long "glass".  400mm focal length results
in an image of only 3.6 mm on film (for 35mm).

For a full frame shot of the moon,  you'll need >2000 mmm
focal length.  I would recommend using a 1000/10 russian
mirror lens (aka "Russentonne") and boost it with a 2x.
Have a steady tripod and steady air!

Good luck,  and don't forget to enjoy the sight.  A red
moon is quite something.
