Subject: EOS slide processing...
I have not shot transparency film in years. Can anyone recommend
or know of a lab that will process chromes and then scan the
images to a CD. At the moment I only have a flat bed scanner thus
no other way to get digital images from the chromes.
Hi Lee,
Try going to aandi.com, they are one of the best E-6 labs in the country.
You 'll never have scratches as they use high-end dip and dunk tanks for
their E-6 film processing. They'll send you mounted or sleeved film and
also have an excellent digital lab called xyzzy. Straight E-6 processing is
only $6.00 a roll or so and mounted rolls are $8.00. The only problem you
may have is the cost of scanning they are a "pro" lab and deserve to be
called as such and you pay for it. BUT they are THE BEST!!! If you do much
shooting and scanning it will pay you to get you own scanner, say a Polaroid
or Nikon 4000dpi model and just scan the frames you want. Unless you need
bigger files and higher bit color scanning your own is the way to go.
Regards,
Chip Louie
