It does seem to, using the center focus point, and at times even with other
focus points; however, I found it surprisingly difficult to find suitable
targets with which to conduct this little test (how do I know it isn't seeing
some horizontal element), plus it's night as I write and the lighting is by
ordinary household lamps. So I wouldn't call this conclusive. :-)
