Folks, I hope most realize that I love poking some
good natured fun at our fellow photographers who
happen to own Nikon equipment. However, I think those
who wish to point out the incompatiblity of some Nikon
lenses and bodies ought to keep quite. Having known
several people who faced instant obselecence of their
old FD systems I don't think we have much to gloat
about. It's all about the timeline. Going back to
the mid 80's then EOS looks better in terms
ofcompatibility. However, those of us who are older
have equipment from the 70's and early 80's and we
were really stung by the switch to the EOS mount. I
personally know of several folks who had many
thousands of dollars tied up in FD gear only to find
that they hit the end of the line in the mid 80's. On
the other hand one of my buddies has a 1970's 135mm
f/2.8 Nikkor lens that works just fine on his F100.
It's all in how you measure it.
