Both my 6th and 7th grade sons are amateur astronomers ... so I guess
that is where they've gathered their optics knowledge. A basic
understanding is necessary to calculate field of view, magnification,
etc. with various eyepieces on telescopes with different size
objectives. I'm a real old f*rt, and they make me feel extremely
uneducated and uninformed. They take space travel, micro-miniature
computers, and instant world-wide communications for granted.
