If I may jump in? I have not been following the thread closely, but I
am considering the Canon 50 f1.8II or f1.4 for available light photos.

My question to users is this. Is the added speed really noticed? I
have not done any photography inside, but want a lens that I can stick
on when traveling and especially going into museums. Because the
lighting is alway terrible in museums and PhotoDo rates them both as
great lens, I was hoping to hear if the extra speed was worth the price?

I don't mind paying for it, but wonder if it will be used 10%, 20%, 50%,
etc of the time. I usually shoot E100SW +1 for daily film (birding) so
that is what I will have on hand most likely or Velvia 50.

Thanks.
