Hi!
My girlfriend owns an EOS3000 KIT (EOS3000 with 35-76 zoom). I also have
28-80 II. I played with both, getting good focusing results either using
28-80 on EOS 3000 or 35-76 on EOS 300. My opinion is, that EOS 3000 is good
entry level SLR for a beginner while offering PIC modes as well as
"creative" modes. To me, numerous focusing points on EOS 300 is sometimes
disturbing, so I set the focusing point on the center -- EOS 300 uses the
closes object to focus on, where EOS 3000 uses 3 points (not selectable) in
the center to focus on the subject. I was also getting good results in PIC
sport mode where the camera focuses continuously when tracking the subject.
Try testing the 28-80 lenses with your body, as suggested by Gary.
rgds,
IVI.
