Hi Grega,

I just checked the Canon camera Museum and if you have
a look at the following page:

http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/f_camera.html

and have a look at the specifications page (direct
url:
http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/1992-1996/data/1993_eos-kiss_s.html
) it has the relevent details about the 3 AF points. 
It doesn't call it a "wide area AF" system, but I
think that was the marketing term used for it. 

>From memory the focusing screen has a left square
bracket where the left AF point is and a right square
bracket where the right AF point is.  I can't for the
life of me remember how (or if!) the centre AF point
was marked. :-)
