Hi Robert,

The Elan 7E will let you choose AF points without
having to push a button using ECF.

On the Elan 7, CF11=2, the main dial selects AF points
horizontally while the QCD selects vertically.

Note that if you set your Elan 7 to CF11=1, CF12=1 you
will not be able to choose AUTO AF SELECT (7 points).
This seems to be a programmed limitation (i.e. BUG).

A more versatile setting appears to be CF11=1, CF12=0,
since you can select any of the AF points, including
AUTO AF SELECT.  Choosing the centre AF point is at
most two presses on the UP arrow key.
