Half right. We all know that Canon does listen to his
users more than any other manufacturer.
And it would be stupid to ignore the fact that many
consumer grade lenses show comparably low mechanical
precision and durability. This is not only true for
Canon lenses but for all manufacturers cheap end of
lenses.

Making clear that we know about this and that we
do recognize the difference might lead to Canon
offering better mechanics. If you don't ask, you
get what somebody else wants.

I for myself want metal mounts, I want a good manual
focussing ring, and I want a useable distance scale.
And I don't want that as a luxury extra, I want that
as natural norm.

I do use EF lenses exclusively, but I know that Canon
can do most lenses in a better mechanical standard.
And I want that.
